History

Thetford Athletic were formed in 2005 by Mark Dolman and Matt Spencer, Two players who decided it was the right time to form a new Football Club within the town, in June 2005 the club were awarded league status for the first time with entry into the South & Central Norfolk League Division 4. The Club played their first competitive match on August 27th vs Cockers.

Season 2005/2006

27th August 2005 Club Win Their first competitive Match against Cockers 3-0.

11th Febuary 2006 The Club Qualify For Their First Ever Cup Final Beating Bintree 3-1 In The Semi Final.

18th March 2006 The club gain promotion following a 1-0 win away to Bunwell.

30th March 2006 The club play in their first ever final, but are defeated by Shipdham 2-1 to finish League cup Runners up.

12th April 2006 The club clinch their first ever trophy, beating Shropham 2-0 to clinch the 4th division title.

15th April 2006 The club lose their first ever league match with a 2-0 defeat to Scarnning.

Season 2006/2007

4th November 2006 The club plays their first game at their new home in Great Hockham.

25th April 2007 The club secure their second league title in 2 years by claiming the Division Three championship along with promotion to division 2.

May 2008 Club win the Crown Fire Division 2 championship with a home victory against Dickleborough FC. The club also wins its third straight promotion to secure a place in the top division for the first time in the clubs history.

June 2 20008 Club awarded League club of the year and receive a shield and a cheque for £125 from the Crown Fire League Chairman.
